The awards ceremony of the "21st Agency Archive Management Gold File Award and Gold Quality Award", the highest honor in the field, was held on September 5 at the International Conference Hall of the National Central Library. Premier Cho Jung-tai presented awards to 12 winning agencies and 10 outstanding individuals. Among them, Yeh Yi-hsin, a staff member of the Department of Environmental Protection of the Taoyuan City Government (TYDEP), was recognized for her dedication and exceptional performance in archives management, bringing glory to Taoyuan City and affirming the TYDEP’s achievements in this area.
The TYDEP noted that there were 87 agencies competing for the Agency Archive Management Gold File Award and 73 participants for the Gold Quality Award. Yeh Yi-hsin stood out through multiple rounds of rigorous evaluation. With the support and collaboration of her colleagues, she spearheaded various initiatives, such as the "Archives Management Evaluation and Retrospective Organization Project" to address historical filing deficiencies, regular training sessions on common issues, the promotion of electronic document use, and emergency response drills for archives preservation. Her proactive efforts in guiding secondary agencies toward improvement were acknowledged by the National Archives Administration, earning her this prestigious accolade amidst strong competition.
In his speech, National Development Council Minister Liu Chin-ching commended the awardees for their responsibility, high quality, and meticulousness. He highlighted the importance of archives management professionals in demonstrating the social value and cultural heritage of archives through innovative applications and emerging technologies, making archives a precious shared resource for the public. The awards ceremony underscored the ongoing commitment of government agencies to professional archives management and encouraged award recipients to lead their organizations and colleagues in continuous growth and excellence.
The TYDEP also created a digital poster showcasing the award-winning achievements, which was displayed in the lobby for staff to appreciate the significance of the TYDEP’s archives management success and to share in the joy and glory of this honor.
